Priority deadlines are as follows:
Fall Semester - April 15
Spring Semester - October 15
Summer Semester - February 15
Applications are processed as they are received. However, applications received too late to permit processing for the upcoming semester, will be processed for the following semester. All required records and forms must be received in Records & Registration Office prior to admission. USU Eastern has two semesters and two summer terms: Fall Semester begins in late August; Spring Semester begins in Early January; and Summer Semester begins in Early May.
Official copies of academic records of all studies completed in secondary schools (high school), colleges, and universities must be submitted with your application. To be official, each copy must bear the original stamp or seal and a signature of a school officer or other authorized official attesting that it is a true copy of the original document. Unofficial photocopies of academic records will not be accepted. All records must be in English. Records from any schools attended must be official copies sent directly from the institution to USU Eastern Records & Registration Office.
A non-refundable application fee of US $50.00 must accompany the Application for Admission. Send a check or money order payable to USU Eastern.
To verify funding, USU Eastern requires a signed Certification of Financial Support and a current bank statement. A personal bank statement or your sponsor’s bank statement must show that estimated costs can be covered for one academic year. The Certification of Financial Support and estimated costs can be found on the application for admission.
To apply to USU Eastern any student whose native language is not English must have: TOEFL score of at least 525 paper/pencil, 71 iBT (internet-based test) or IELTS score of 6.0 with a minimum of 5.0 on each sub-scale.
If a student graduates from an American high school after attending the last 3 years at a US high school, the English proficiency requirement will be met with transcripts.
Students are automatically enrolled in the university health insurance program. If you choose to purchase health insurance on your own it must meet university health insurance standards and you are responsible to complete the waiver process.
Transfer credit is often available to students with previous university level study. If a student brings an official English-translated copy of their transcript, it may be mailed to one of several companies within the U.S. that evaluate international credits. These companies charge a fee for this service. When the evaluation is returned to USU Eastern, our records office will determine which credits may be used at USU Eastern. Students transferring credit from within the U.S. can have their transcript evaluated immediately. Additional information may be required for departmental review.
Upon acceptance for admission to USU Eastern, a student will receive an official letter of acceptance and a Certificate of Eligibility Form I-20 from the college. Students must take the form to the nearest United States Embassy or Consulate to secure a visa. Students also will be required to present supporting documents demonstrating their ability to pay all of their expenses for at least their first year of study in the U.S.
