Students who complete this program are prepared to take the State Board Exam to become a Licensed Cosmetologist. Take advantage of the small class sizes and low tuition rates offered at USU Eastern.
The Cosmetology program at USU Eastern is the only program in the state of Utah where students receive 100% of their instruction face-to-face with instructors.
During the program students gain experience in Cosmetology, Barbering, Nails and Skincare. Students also prepare a portfolio that they can use as they interview for employment. All graduates of the Cosmetology program are prepared to work in a full service salon
Students may also choose to complete the Nail Technician program in addition to the Cosmetology program. The Nail Technician program requires an additional 300 hours.
Cosmetology is only offered on the Price Campus.

Complete and print the Cosmetology Application Packet.
- The cosmetology application process requires a $15.00 non-refundable fee.
- Applicants must be high school graduates or have a GED certificate. Official high school or GED test certification and college transcripts must be submitted to the Cosmetology Department.
- Applicants must have personal characteristics conducive to working and relating effectively with others. Prospective students will be required to submit four (4) references along with a reference form (included in the application packet) completed by each reference.

All of the above must be submitted/postmarked to the Cosmetology department by March 1st.
The above criteria must be met by the cosmetology applicant before the class selection is made. Class selection for the Cosmetology Program will be made in April. Candidates will be notified by e-mail of their acceptance status. Should applicants who have been granted admission to the program be unable to accept their appointments, alternates will be notified.
All students accepting placement in the Cosmetology Program will be required to submit a criminal background check.
